USDA Proposes End to Acclimation Certificates

The USDA’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) has proposed new animal transport/acclimation certificate standards. By eliminating ambient temperature requirements for various stages in transportation of live animals other than marine mammals, acclimation certificates will become obsolete.
A link to the Federal Register Notice of Proposed Rules on this matter can be found by clicking here. The APHIS is accepting feedback on their proposal. AAHA encourages veterinarians to submit their comments online by clicking here. All comments need to be submitted by March 3, 2008.
